Mayo – Clare
This section of the trail goes from the county of Mayo, in the province of Munster, to the county of Clare, in the province of Connacht. Galway, the 4th largest urban area in Ireland, is a cultural and economic hub in the region.
Cliffs of Moher
Ireland’s most visited natural attraction. Step to the edge of the world, see the rugged cliffs, taste the salt in the air, hear the birds cry, feel the ancient rocks beneath your feet, smell the wind, and take in the spectacle that is the Cliffs of Moher.
Bunratty Castle
Built in 1425 and restored in the 1950s, Bunratty is an impressive early 15th century castle, and home to major tourist attractions; a “living history” recreation of a 19th century village, and a riotous night-time medieval banquet. There are also tours of the interior of the castle.
